secretary
Katelin Hayward
Hometown: Grenada, MS
Spotify or Apple Music: Spotify
Union or Library: Union
Platform: Over this past year, I have brought legitimacy back to the Secretary’s Department by expanding our team, empathizing transparency and efficiency in our department’s timeline of record-keeping, and creating a new initiative of student advocacy programming through ASB 365. Every internal meeting conducted by the Executive and Legislative branches has been recorded and posted for the student body to view. Accurate records of voting and attendance have also been maintained. These steps have solidified the Department of the Secretary’s place within the ranks of the other departments and branches. I plan to uphold this new standard of excellence for the upcoming year and for the future years to come.
Judicial chair
Sabrina Davis
Hometown: Easton, Maryland
Spotify or Apple Music: Spotify
Union or Library: Library
Platform: My vision for the judicial council is simple: Fairness above all, for all. My goals include forming a better understanding of the many dimensions of wellness that the university recognizes, to see fairness and justice as the highest standards at our university, to make the student conduct process more transparent, and to increase impartiality among the UJC
Autumn Fortenberry
Hometown: McComb, Mississippi
Spotify or Apple Music: Spotify
Union or Library: Library
Platform: My vision for Judicial Chair revolves around three main ideas: Access, Justice, and Reform.
- Improve access to the judicial branch by making it easier for students to voice their concerns and navigate our conduct process
- Expand restorative justice measures by partnering with existing campus organizations to meet students where they are at and provide them with the education and wellness resources that they need
- Advocate to reform current policies and procedures in pursuit of a smarter conduct process that fosters a better campus environment for everyone
If elected, I will work to develop programs that support an honest dialogue, ensure justice, provide clarity, and promote a mutual community of learning.
ifc senator
Teal Salloum
Hometown: Gulfport, MS
Spotify or Apple Music: Spotify
Union or Library: Union
Platform: If elected, I would work to progress the Greek system through fostering inter-fraternal cooperation and bolstering campus involvement in other RSOs. In addition, I would encourage further philanthropic partnerships with organizations in the LOU community. I'd also want to create a better dialogue between ASB and students as we transition through the effects of COVID-19 on the Ole Miss experience.
William "Will" Miles
Hometown: Baton Rouge, LA
Spotify or Apple Music: Apple Music
Union or Library: Union
Platform: My goals for ASB, IFC, and the greater Ole Miss community is the breaking down of barriers. I am advocating for more collaboration between organizations on campus that, typically, do not work together on philanthropy projects. I intend on bringing together people of different backgrounds and experiences to work together towards one goal. Their collaboration allows these individuals from different organizations to establish relationships that they previously would not. Through my own experiences in the Ole Miss Greek community, I have seen the good results that occur when two groups, such as a fraternity and sorority, come together to work on a philanthropy project. I will advocate for organizations to come together and work with other organizations they usually would not interact with to encourage more social harmony among the student body.
Mason Greenwald
Hometown: Cleveland, Ohio
Spotify or Apple Music: Apple Music
Union or Library: Library
Platform: As a current Senator At-Large, serving as a member of the Committee on Inclusion and Cross Cultural Engagement, I have already started addressing ways that our campus can be a more diverse and inclusive space for all. When I ran for the open-seat and was voted on by the standing Senate, I promised environmental accountability and I still still stand by that initiative. If re-elected, I also plan on parking and housing reform to increase quality of life for all students. I've been in conversations to remove the $3.00 laundry charge because there's no arguing that it's a pesky charge that adds up after a while. I am currently one of only two freshman senators and spent a lot of time advocating for more engagement opportunities and resources during an unprecedented freshman experience. All of these projects are based on the meaningful conversations I have had with peers and I hope that I can continue serving you! If you have any further questions about my campaign or initiatives, please feel free to reach out to me! Lastly, I utilize this GroupMe (https://groupme.com/join_group/66548347/tIRV9he1) to provide important information about the election, keep track of my supporters, and it'd mean the world if you joined this campaign for a more environmentally-friendly, accessible, and engaged campus!
applied sciences senator
Bailey Beaird
Hometown: Dallas, TX
Spotify or Apple Music: Spotify
Union or Library: Union
Platform: If chosen to be a senator, my platform would be to advocate for all student voices, especially those in the School of Applied Sciences. Incredible majors, faculty, and students belong to this school and it would be my honor to represent them. My vision as a senator would be to bring any ideas or suggestions brought to me by students to the senate and to rely information from the senate to the students to gather their opinions. Ultimately, I would like to be a bridge between those who belong to the School of Applied Sciences and the ASB Senate.

Religion/Spiritual Senator
Walker Jay Patterson
Hometown: Jackson, Mississippi
Spotify or Apple Music: Spotify
Union or Library: Union
Platform: I believe that the University of Mississippi is home to a diverse group of religions and spiritual outlooks that deserve to be respected and appreciated on and off campus. I plan to see growth in students by bringing in speakers and groups regardless of religious affiliation, to support growth in each persons spiritual journey.
Evan England
Hometown: Chattanooga, Tennessee
Spotify or Apple Music: Spotify
Union or Library: Union
Platform: My main goals are to improve communication between ASB and students, improve infrastructure on campus, and to make it easier for students to be civically involved.
In my first year, I have noticed that many students feel reluctant to express their opinions to ASB. Although ASB has several outreach programs like Flagship Fridays, Meet Your Senator, and the Represent Ole Miss Newsletter, there is still more work to be completed! As your Religious and Spiritual Senator, I hope to hear student opinions by trying to attend different club meetings regularly and host forums, so I can be sure you are being well represented!
Our roads and sidewalks represent our campus overall. They are one of the first things visitors notice and the last thing they see as they leave. Whether you walk, drive, or bike to class, you should rest assured you will arrive safely. Ole Miss is the most beautiful campus in the country. It is our job to ensure it stays that way!
The 2020 election was one of the largest in decades. Many municipalities were unprepared for the number of voters. This made it difficult to vote as some students missed class because there were in-line to vote while others never received their absentee ballot. If elected, I’d try to make it easier for students to vote by having increased transportation to voting precincts and allowing to students to register to vote on campus.

If I am honored to represent you, my goal for their upcoming school year will be to ensure engagement across campus for all groups of students. Specifically, I will focus on increasing the number of business students involved in and around campus as well as the greater Oxford community. I will work towards addressing key issues that our student body cares about and act as a voice for the people towards things such as parking, student activities, and accessibility. The University of Mississippi is always in need of leaders from all areas of campus. As YOUR business senator, I look forward to working with these amazing elected officials and I WILL make your voice heard in all ASB and Business school functions.
Thank you, Preston Oden

Platform: One of the main visions I want to implant in not only the business school, but also ASB as a whole is making our business school more inclusive and diverse for all students that go to the University of Mississippi. As students come from all different walks of life, the business school should be seen as a program that is seen as an opportunity to give students a head start into their future careers and get them into the door of any job that he or she is wanting to pursue.

Union or Library: Library
Platform:
1. Promote Physical and Mental Well-being for both students on and off campus.
2. Create a Textbook Buy-back program where students can exchange their old textbooks for credits to buy new ones.

Emma Brewer
Hometown: Nashville, TN
Spotify or Apple Music: Spotify
Union or Library: Library
Platform: As a senator I would strive to make ASB more approachable for all students. Oftentimes it can seem too daunting or complicated to approach someone with ideas or problems that you have. I want to help mitigate those barriers between students and ASB by creating relationships with students and encouraging and promoting dialogue between students and members of ASB. Along with that vision, I also want to work to continue to develop and promote diversity and inclusion in the Panhellenic community. Strong organizations only get stronger with diverse ideas and individuals. I believe that the Panhellenic community would continue to grow and flourish with the promotion of diversity and inclusion, and the promotion of these interactions not only within Panhellenic, but also in collaboration with other organizations on campus.
liberal arts senator
George (Wake) Monroe
Hometown: Memphis
Spotify or Apple Music: Spotify
Union or Library: Union
Platform: I would work to have more buildings on campus be eco-friendly by taking steps such as: installing more of the eco-friendly toilet handles like the ones in the honors college, have no plastic items used by the union, rebel market, or on campus dining in general, and try to begin the adoption of solar panels. I also want to start a textbook buyback program so students can buy used textbooks if they want and sell their current textbooks when they're done with them. Beyond these specific goals, in a broader sense, I want to continue the efforts that are being made in increasing diversity and inclusion on campus, and I want to be able to make our university the best it can be so as to attract as many new rebels as possible.
Anastasia Jones-Burdick
Hometown: Huntington, West Virginia
Spotify or Apple Music: Apple Music
Union or Library: Union
Platform: My story with ASB started before the COVID-19 pandemic struck when a surprised, out-of-state student was elected by the standing Senate to serve as a Senator At-Large, became the only serving freshman, and embarked on a mission to foster a more accessible and welcoming ‘Ole Miss’ family. While I’ve been a part of many fun projects with ASB, like getting more outside seating in the Grove and Chairing the Inclusion and Cross-Cultural Engagement Committee, the most rewarding work I’ve been able to contribute to are initiates based around addressing student need: affordable housing, social belonging, livable wages, healthcare access, and food insecurity. As a current Senator, I have also been collaborating with administrators to award Juneteenth and Election Day the recognition they deserve, secure more resources for NPHC organizations, and provide free feminine hygiene products in all academic buildings. ASB should be a service organization for you and for all students. I am so grateful for your interest in our student government and I encourage you to stay engaged with our community, whether that is through ASB, a student organization, or service opportunities! I hope that my leadership within ASB can continue to reflect the values of humble service and community if re-elected as a College of Liberal Arts Senator.

Axel Soto Lopez
Hometown: Laurel, MS
Spotify or Apple Music: Apple Music
Union or Library: Library
Platform: Diversity and Inclusion is really important to me. While I know that past ASB senators or executive officers may have potentially thought of or done things that have advanced diversity and inclusion at the University of Mississippi, I want to continue that. Personally, I would like to improve the diversity within organizations and programs, such as this one, at Ole Miss.
engineering senator
Ben Jackson
Hometown: Senatobia, MS
Spotify or Apple Music: Spotify
Union or Library: Union
Platform: In such a large business/liberal arts university, it can be easy for an engineering school to get lost in the shuffle and lose its voice. My goal is to bridge the gap between the University and my constituents in the engineering school to allow their voices to be heard on issues that affect them.
club sports senator
Ben Murphey
Hometown: Paris, TN
Spotify or Apple Music: Apple Music

Platform: I plan to listen to the concerns and interests of my peers, and use my position to be a voice for them. I would love to do whatever I can to make the University more accessible for students of all socioeconomic backgrounds. I would also prioritize helping the University to become more inclusive and inviting for all. From just the short amount of time that I have been at Ole Miss, I have fallen in love with the school and my fellow students. Platform: The platform/vision I have for ASB is "Being the Asset for You". When I use the word Asset I am using it in an acronym. A meaning accountant, not only do accountants deal with money but they are willing to make decisions and serve others, this leads to my next letter. The letter S meaning service, I am big about serving others and Ole Miss and Ole Miss Accountancy has served me well and led me on to a success journey that I want others to continue to have. Therefore my next S is success, I want students to be aware and know about all the services and resources available to them towards a successful college experience . The E will stand for Equity, not only is this election about becoming a leader but it is making sure everyone's thoughts are considered and heard. I plan to bring those thoughts with my last letter T. I want the student body to trust my leadership and integrity to make sure we move forward in making Ole Miss the Asset it is to all of us.

Union or Library: Union
Platform: To make the University of Mississippi a more inclusive and equitable place
cultural/multicultural senator
Palace Roby
Hometown: Nettleton, MS
Spotify or Apple Music: Apple Music
Union or Library: Library
Platform: My platform is centered around diversity and inclusion on campus. My vision for ASB includes raising awareness to the importance of intercultural dialogue. I believe that openly interacting and engaging in uncommon conversations will help dispute the polarization and stereotypes among different cultures. I will make efforts to encourage our campus environment to support and embrace all of the diversity the university has to offer. I have the idea to possibly introduce an international movie night. I also want to implement a week devoted to cultural diversity, possibly in April. Each day of the school week will be centered around a different culture. I will give information on each culture via social media and possibly host a table event or two during that week with trivia, games, and prizes if allowed. I know that there is a world day solely committed to cultural diversity ( May 21st ), but I also know that the semester will be over when this date comes around. I look forward to serving and working to better my community if given the opportunity.
student governance senator
Demetrius "Dee" Harris
Hometown: Hattiesburg, MS
Spotify or Apple Music: Spotify
Union or Library: Union
Platform: I want my platform to be a voice for the voiceless, a strong representative for the underrepresented, and a reflection of the change I want to see. I plan to use my platform to be a powerful advocate for all students at the university. I want them to feel free to talk to me or any person on my team about controversial topics or great ideas, and I would love for my team (with the help of the entire ASB) to make sure that it gets resolved or happen.
I would implement debrief sessions via zoom or in-person (when it's safe to do so), so students can get things off their minds. This will help us know how the student population is feeling about the current atmosphere on campus.
honor society senator
Kennady Hertz
Hometown: Long Beach, MS
Spotify or Apple Music: Spotify
Union or Library: Union
Platform: My platform focuses primarily on the enrichment of campus life for students. As the honorary/ honors society senator, I would make it my duty to create wide-range student access to enrichment programs and job opportunities. UM already has a great selection of different initiatives designed specifically to make new possibilities and good connections for students, but many have a seemingly low interest and attendance rate. I want to change this and make these programs worth both the student and facilitator’s time. We should be making the most out of these opportunities offered to us as students.
Also, as a current member of the infrastructure, I always have my eyes open to ways we could physically improve campus, especially in regards to making it more visitor-friendly. A series of improvements can be made in regards to making campus more navigable and safe for those that do not know their way around. There is always more to be done to improve our beautiful campus.
philanthropic/service senator
Emmie Burgess
Hometown: Fort Smith, Arkansas
Spotify or Apple Music: Spotify
Union or Library: Library
Platform: The opportunity to be a voice for the student body is not one I take lightly. As a senator, I would be excited to work and engage with the wide variety of service organizations on campus in order to represent them in the best possible light. I would dedicate my time in ASB to collaborating with other senators to effectively accomplish student initiatives as well as using my platform to speak up for the interests of the philanthropic community and the student body. I am passionate about being an ASB senator because I am passionate about this university as well as the philanthropic community here.
Amelia Ladner
Hometown: Jackson, MS
Spotify or Apple Music: Spotify
Union or Library: Union
Platform: My vision and mission as ASB Philanthropic/Service Senator include focus on bringing the Ole Miss student body back together to focus on important issues and causes that raise awareness of community, diversity and inclusion. The COVID-19 pandemic has brought serious concerns to light such as the mental health of the student body, awareness of healthy choices and the need to have opportunity to gather and not isolate. My goal is to support projects, programs and activities that highlight service to community while being fully inclusive and aware that not everyone recognizes the importance of personal growth from charitable giving. Philanthropy by definition is an effort that one undertakes based on the desire to improve human welfare. If there is anything to be learned from the last 12 months, we can all agree that focusing on quality of life and activities that benefit the public good are important for the leaders of the future to address. As a Senator, I will fully embrace the impact of giving back and connecting with others in our efforts to serve.
