Infrastructure Committee
The ASB Committee on Infrastructure & Environmental Affairs is responsible for overseeing all matters related to campus facilities, sustainability, and transportation at the University of Mississippi. This committee works closely with the Office of Facilities Management, promoting environmental sustainability and spearheading efforts to enhance awareness and education on these topics. They also collaborate with the Office of Sustainability to manage and operate the Green Fund, which is used for campus-wide sustainability initiatives.
In addition to their environmental focus, the committee assists the ASB with capital improvements to student facilities and coordinates initiatives involving University Parking Services. They maintain regular communication with the Senate Committee on Infrastructure & University Development to ensure smooth collaboration on infrastructure-related projects. The Principal of the Bureau of Infrastructure & Environmental Affairs serves as ASB’s representative to the Green Fund and plays a key role in coordinating environmental efforts on campus.
The committee also has a presence on key university boards, such as the Chancellor’s Traffic and Parking Committee and the Saferide/Paratransit Student Advisory Board, ensuring that student voices are represented in decisions about transportation, parking, and safety services. The committee’s ongoing mission is to improve physical infrastructure and environmental sustainability on campus, making it a crucial part of student life and development at Ole Miss.
