Governmental Operations Committee

The Committee on Governmental Operations serves as the Senatorial body in charge of all matters relating to the ASB Code and Constitution, governmental structure, and campus elections. Any changes to the ASB Code and Constitution must first come through this committee before going before the full Senate to be enacted. This committee works to serve all students to the best of its ability, balancing the needs of all students when deciding on changes that will affect the student government. In the past, the committee has internally modified THE responsibilities and duties of ASB positions, created new Senate Committees and Executive Bureaus & Principals, and changed ASB executive pay. Externally, the committee has revised the Who's Who process, allowed for food giveaways in campaigning seasons, and CLARIFIED election rules. This year the committee seeks to clarify and create a new type of legislation to pass ASB Senate, to increase election voting for dual-degree seeking students, to increase campaign budgets for some positions, and to streamline the campaigning season.
